| This is my prototype for my dog ramp. A dog will jump off the back of the swim platform on the boat but then can't get back in when he is done. This ramp is 1/2" plywood wrapped in industrial grade carpet stapled on the back. It has a handle. It will also have a small inflatable docking fender attached to the underside so that only the first 12 inches or so are submerged under the water. (imagine the ramp like a see-saw with a round inflatable fender half way down) If this is not enough, I have another piece that is identicle to this one. I will connect the two by hinges so it folds up but will be twice as long unfolded giving the dog a longer ramp that goes much deeper into the water with a less steep angle. I will try this version first as it weighs half as much. I did it in blue to match the blue and white hull. It will support about 50lbs without bending and the total dry weight is a light 6.7lbs. |
